Legacy Device Classification

 

Beginning 4/1/26, Computer Repair of Des Moines will implement a new classification standard for specific devices brought in for service.

What qualifies as a “Legacy” device?

Any machine or device that meets either of the following criteria will be designated as Legacy:

  • Running Windows 10 on unsupported hardware, or
  • Using an 8th‑Generation processor or older

💲 Legacy Device Service Rate

Due to the additional time, complexity, and compatibility concerns associated with servicing these systems, Legacy devices will be billed at:

$149 per man‑hour

📞 Hourly Communication & Approval

To maintain transparency and ensure customer authorization:

  • We will contact the customer after each hour of labor
  • We will request approval before moving forward with additional work
